Today has been an exciting adventure filled day here in our household. Started off early with lots of noise and music. After alternating between playing the harmonica, flute and saucepan lid symbols whilst dancing around the kitchen, Jordan decided he wanted to make a shaker - well mum had just the thing to go in the shaker and I found just the right container for it. Who would have thought this could have been such a great lesson in just making the shaker - it was great.
Well shaker made and we had a musical procession around the house, Jordan in the lead with his brand new shaker, Mummy in the middle with symbols and Nanny coming up the back with the flute. Very very noisy but we all had a lot of fun.
OCEANS AND JELLYFISH
Today we added a jellyfish to our ocean. Jellyfish swim in the upper and middle levels of the ocean with fish. I just love how I am seeing his drawings get better and better all the time and this project is really bringing out his creativeness as well as learning all about the ocean and the creatures which live in it. Interestingly the jellyfish was drawn very quickly and Jordan didnt want to add any colour to it compared to the fish the other day which is very bright and very creative.
CRANES, CHAINSAWS AND MORE NOISE
A very big crane turned up today to trim a very large tree across the street Apparently the tree has been listed as "historical value" so what would normally be a relative simple task has actually been quite a process to determine just how much of the tree can be trimmed (unfortunately this beautiful tree has become quite a hazard to a couple of houses. Before the tree cutting started there were big discussions but finally they started and gave Jordan at least an hour's entertainment before he got bored with it all. Dad also got a load of good firewood for winter - love that!!
There were some seriously big cuts coming down from the tree - the thud as they hit the ground was amazing
RELATIVE QUIET END TO THE DAY
We finished the day with a game of Snakes and Ladders and then a game of checkers with Nanny. Since daddy has been in America, Jordan has been playing games over skype with him and he has learnt to be quite a good checkers player. Today we found a new game where you have to match 3 jewels in a row - it is excellent for both Jordan and Daddy and I think I am going to try and get some time to play it as well.
Precious memories to treasure
