DEVELOPING ROUTINES AGAIN

I can't believe it has been nearly 2 weeks since I last posted anything on my blog. We have had lots to do in the past couple of weeks as well as having lots of fun. Life is slowly settling back into a routine and we are moving towards getting used to the crazy time-schedule in our household, taking into account Paul's trading hours, homeschooling time, family time and playtime. Yes we are getting there and enjoying the ride in doing so.
One of my biggest achievements since coming back from N.Z. has definitely been finishing the Tax and sending it to the Accountant - It was done with the minimum of stress which is HUGE for me. Whilst I was working on the Tax, Jordan and Daddy got to do some great building projects together and this is one of their achievements. I couldn't help myself though and just had to get involved in some of the fun.
Before heading off to Ecuador, I saw a bolero jacket in a knitting book and loved it instantly. On closer inspection, I realised it was actually crocheted and not knitted, well I decided this was not going to deter me and I was up for the challenge , AND here it is. I really really enjoyed making it and for the most part was very easy and so quick to make. I just love it and the bling button just finishes it off perfectly.
My candlewicked quilt is also coming along nicely, I think I am up to 5 squares now which considering the amount of travel we have done since I started this project isn't too bad. I love when I find a couple of moments to myself and the peacefulness that always comes with the embroidering of my knots. With every knot I am one step closer to finishing my work of love.

  1. Oh Janine, I love the crochet bolero! Way to go. What a huge project to start with and it looks fantastic. What book did you use???? I really have to make something big like this for myself. I am knitting finger puppets right with a bunch of leftover wool. It is fun and they are super cute. I will put them on the blog when they are done. Talk to you soon!!!

  2. Came from "Australian Knitting" mag. Will try and get you a copy. I saw some finger puppets the other day and thought they would be so cute to knit - can't wait to see the finished products.
