OK, so this probably isn't a big deal for most people but I have never made my own pastry for pies and that sort of thing. Lately I have been experimenting and made Pizza bases and scones but generally when I am making something which calls for pastry I get the readymade pastry from the shop (not from now on though - I love making pastry and it isn't that hard).
So this week I attempted Pasties with a shortcrust pastry which were really yummy and then I got a little adventurous and with the same pastry receipe, I changed the flour to wholemeal and added linseeds to make a pie. I had so much filling left over from the pasties that I decided to make one big pie and just add some more vegetables cut in bigger chunks.
