Paper Aeroplanes

We have been having so much fun with family time the last couple of nights - making paper aeroplanes. I love that, as well as being a whole heap of fun, it is also educational and teaching Jordan about folding paper, lining up edges, 1/2's and 2/3's etc etc.........
First up we make the paper aeroplane under Daddy's instructions, a quick test fly and then we decorate the plane. After they are fully decorated it is flying time, and tonight we made a control centre, airport and terminal from which the people are leaving to get onto the aeroplanes. Well actually the people are animals as we didn't have enough people and the imagination needs to be set in motion a bit here to see all of this but that's what I love about my little boy, he doesn't need any encouragement to let loose with that wonderful imagination of his.

  1. Great idea Janine. We have had a lot of fun with paper airplanes as well. The boys would spend hours outside throwing them across the 'red sea' or the 'river of lava' (mum's driveway) to the safety of the rocks on the other side. I spent many hours knitting and watching. The best part was decorating I think. Thanks for reminding me of these fun times. We will have to do it again soon. I wonder though if it will be an inside game now what with all the snow. Not to sure if paper planes and snow go together to well!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I'm sure the boys will find lots of fun "imagative" places to fly them indoors although outside is always so much better. mmme I think there might be a few "soggy" landings if they flew them outside in the snow :-) Wow, snow, I did see on your blog last night that it is snowing - is this early?
