This is an example of what Jordan and Paul just saw on our Patio - aargh !
Jordan first spotted it but by the time they had called out to me to come and see it had slithered away.
Apparently it was approx 1.5 to 2 metres long which means that it was an adult.
Now I know snakes and country go hand in hand but it is one part of the country living that I don't know I will ever get to like - snakes scare terrify me - there I have said it.
So that I don't pass too much of this fear onto Jordan I decided to google "Tree Snakes" - what a great lesson for him. "Green Tree Snakes" are in fact harmles as I believed although they are not always green and can range from dark brown, black, tan, yellow or blue. Lets hope that if there are any more that make themselves known to us that they are green so that I can keep my panic levels in check - not that I would be going anywhere near them just so that I can try and give the impression of a level of calm to Jordan if he is around.
Oh how lovely!
ReplyDeleteHope you dont get too many King Brown snakes there too!
I don't like snakes either. When living on the farm, mums mantra was 'shut the doors, shut the doors'. I remember if workmen ever came and would walk in the house and leave a door open while they popped out to get a tool, my mum would freak! Another hint, if you have any doors with a slight gap on the bottom, make sure you get one of those sandbag snakes to cover it or you will get baby snakes in the house!!! Arghhhh!!! Talk about bringing back memories! I hope I haven't scared you - just trying to help. And you will laugh at me soon when our summer comes around and I am scared of the coyotes and bears in the yard. I am not sure which I prefer! Getting bit by a snake might me a bit more, um pleasant (?) than being eaten by a bear!!!! The pics of your new place look lovely. A truly beautiful place and I am sure you guys will love it there.
