AFTER EFFECTS OF TICK BITES

Well the 2nd tick bite is almost completely gone other than a small red dot - not so for the 1st tick bite.  After thinking we had seen the worst of it, Jordan developed a fever and bite flared up with the middle part looking quite horrible and the surrounding area very red.  I think the essential oils were bringing all the bacteria and poisons to the centre of the bite which was a good thing but after some more research we switched to clay as a poultice.

Our research showed that Bentonite Clay was the best but after ringing around we found we could not get it in powder form here so the next best is Green Clay which we mixed up and smothered the area in clay.  Yesterday was spent with a small fever but today he is back to his mischievous self.  The bite itself is looking much better and although it is still red around the bite, the middle infected part looks so much better.  Another couple of days and I am hoping that it will all be completely better.  We have been taking the added precaution of trying to get garlic into Jordan which has been quite difficult so we are going to invest in some garlic capsules or if that doesn't work (not sure if we can get him to take them) I will make up a garlic concoction  to put on the soles of his feet.

  1. Wow, Janine, I have never heard a person so persistent with tick bites! Your investigations are to be commended! I have had a bit of experience with ticks in various crevices. The only time I found the tick removal to be very painful was when I pulled one off my scalp in my sleep, and left the head in. It is very important NOT to do this. If you don't get the tick out including its head, it will release poison into you, which is what causes the pain. It is worth waiting and killing the tick BEFORE you attempt removal. I know it's not herbal, but a dab of kerosene will do the trick. Then, when it's dead, the tick is easy to pull out with tweezers. It will probably take a long time for Jordan's bite to disappear - my scalp one was there for months and months. Hope this is helpful. xxx
