Kings Beach
There is lots going on around our place at the moment - lots of plans and lots of activity.
Unlike the rest of Queensland Jordan doesn't start back at school until the 31st January so we have had an extra week for lots of fun activities which I am glad about because prior to that we were stuck inside and it didn't really feel like we got to do very much.
The sun has been shining so this week we have been heading down the hill most afternoons to the beaches and it has been fantastic. My little boy has gone from "screaming" if a little bit of water got on his face to having splash fights and saying he loves it when he gets dumped by the waves - all this in 3 weeks, amazing.! We have been working on the water thing for quite some time now but since our time in America and especially in the last 3 weeks he has just come along in leaps and bounds. It all started with him putting his head under the water in his bath (self instigated), then at swimming lessons and now in the surf!!! I just LOVE seeing him have fun in water.
In fact, yesterday at his swimming lesson he was picking up "doggy divers" as he calls them from the bottom of the pool and then when playing with his friend in the pool after his lesson he had his head under the water more than he had it above the water !!

We just love the beach and play areas around Caloundra - each one offers something just a little bit different in the activities for the kids to enjoy depending on what you are after for that day of fun.
We are also enjoying our time with Paul before he heads back to the US for 3 months in February. Lots of preparation, activity and family time together before he leaves and I have to say thank goodness for Skype as it will allow us to keep in touch daily. I don't think this trip would be happening if it wasn't for skype. Also a huge thank you to Don & Karen who have generously offered their home & hospitality to Paul whilst he is over there. I know that he is far more excited at the prospect because of it and looking forward to trading with you Don.
Instead of a New Year Resolution we have all decided on a challenge or challenges for the coming year, the plans are in place and are commencing to actively prepare for and to make them a reality.

Our life is good and I am very blessed and grateful for all that I have.
Beautiful pictures Janine. It looks lovely. Makes me home sick :) Glad to hear your year is starting out with adventure and positive vibes. Safe travels to Paul and I hope the 3 months goes quickly for you!
