Good Friday we headed off to Redcliffe to meet up with friends. It was a last minute venue change but I am so glad we did. On arrival we found out "The Festival of Sails" was on so we headed to the beach front. It wasn't long before the kids gravitated to the beach for a paddle but 10 minutes later, the shorts were off and they were well and truly wet all over BUT oh the fun they were having!
Next it was a picnic lunch at the lagoon and some more swimming
and finally back to the park at Woody Point, some more food and a relaxed chat for us mums
Not the best of photo's as in we are both tired after a full day of play, no make-up and the wind has had it's way with my hair but I love it anyway. It represents our friendship exactly - we are who we are and can be ourselves totally with each other, accepting the good and the bad and everything in between.
We don't get to see each other that often but the time we do spend together is always treasured. Paul met Nikki's partner whilst he was studying Acupuncture, we say they met so we could become friends. We were pregnant at the same time and share similar spiritual journey's in so many ways and although she is off to the US for far too many years, I know our friendship will survive as it always has - distance and time makes no difference to us as we always pick up exactly where we left off and continue with the beautiful friendship we share.
