OUR MAGICAL ADVENTURE - Day 10

Friday 27th March 2009 - Waldport to Astoria, Oregon
Breakfast was on the road today and as we slept in a little we actually ended up having brunch at a place called "Pig n Pancakes" so today I tried my first "American Pancakes". I opted for Buckwheat Pancakes thinking they would be a little healthier seeing as the berry topping was very very sweet. I now know where Cheryl learn't about Pancakes with Bacon as that is very popular over here and in fact they were a bit surprised I didn't want eggs or bacon with my pancakes. Jordan had 3 little sausages in a pancake which he loved and then 2 of my pancakes - I really do wonder where he puts it all at times!! Back on the road again and we were treated to more coastal views which once again were amazing. Jordan had his 1st rock climbing adventure which he loved although gave mum and dad a couple of scares when he got excited and went a little too close to the edge for our comfort. We stopped at a gorgeous little town called Depoe Bay and took some photo's of the waves crashing in on the rocks and a naturally formed blowhole. Continuing on to Tillamook where Jordan spotted a McDonalds with an indoor playground so we stopped there for a little while before continuing on to Astoria. The KOA here at Astoria is a child's delight - 3 playgrounds, indoor heated pool, mini golf and a Jumping Pillow as they call it. Jordan will be in his element tomorrow as we have put the day aside for him to work off some excess energy and Paul will do some trading. As we were pulling into our site, Paul noticed a big RV in one of the spots and just had to go and have a chat to him. Frank is the proud owner of a 42ft RV which is the limit before needing a special license here in Oregon and California. I think Paul would really like to be the proud owner of a 42ft RV!!!
