OUR MAGICAL ADVENTURE - Day 9

Thursday 26th March 2009 – Crescent City to Waldport, Oregan
Today we crossed the border from California into Oregan. Whilst stopped at a lookout, we met a couple from near Portland, Oregon, who were down in Calinfornia for the warmth. The husband was a wood carver who showed us some of his work (he copies the traditional style of the local native American’s) and suggested we visit Neah Bay at the NW tip of Oregon - beautiful scenery and a fascinating Museum.
They were also telling us that a previous Govenor had the foresight to designate the whole of the Oregan coastline as a public highway so that it is available for everybody to enjoy and from what we have seen it certainly is breathtaking. It has also resulted in lots of parks and public camping s - pots along the coast.
It is also the Whale Watching period - we kept seeing Whale Watching signs so I am pleased to hear we are here during their migration time so I will certainly be keeping my eyes open for some.
We are very aware that Jordan is spending a lot of time in his carseat so a McDonalds Playground was scheduled into the itinary for him to play off some excess energy. He is getting very confident in making "10 minute" friends as we call them and also learning to adjust his play to different age groups that he is playing with which is an excellent characteristic for him to learn.
After McDonalds, we stopped at the Sea Lion Caves. We needed to go down an elevator which was cut into the rock cliff and went down 200ft to a hugh underground cave which was inhabited by the sea lions. It was also very very smelly!!
This is the double page scrapbook layout I did on the computer

After the Sealions it was on to our KOA for the night which once again was very nice and our site was right near the playground which Jordan was very pleased about.
