OUR MAGICAL ADVENTURE - Day 12

Sunday 29th March 2009 - Astoria to Port Angeles, Washington
This morning we headed down for free pancakes provided by the KOA which were delicious. Jordan had a serving of 3 and said his stomach no longer pushed from the front to the back because it was nice and full!! After breakfast we packed up which takes a full 5 minutes and were back on the road again. Whilst driving through Astoria I actually saw a Scrapbooking Shop but being Sunday it was closed. I have been really surprised that considering how big Scrapbooking is over here. We went over the Astoria bridge and crossed over into Washington. Just over the bridge we saw a small landslide (obviously from all the rain) and are very grateful it was only a small one as it happened just as we were passing by. Today we stopped at Quinnat Rain Forest and went for a walk. Again Jordan was too close to the edge for Mum and Dad's comfort and as a result we have started the point system for listening. He gets a tick when he listens to us and if he accumulates enough he will get a treat like going to McDonalds Playground etc. Today's lunch with a view was exceptional once again. Shortly after lunch we drove more inland and had views of snow capped mountains - we couldn't believe it, we really weren't expecting to see snow for a couple of days. Jordan was very excited with this discovery, especially when we started seeing snow on the side of the road. I guess this means we are in for a cold night!! Our drive finished with a stop at McDonalds for Jordan to have a play. He found 4 friends so he was really happy and we spent the most part of an hour there. If he earns enough ticks he will probably also get another visit tomorrow after our explorations.
