With the alarm set for an early rise we were up and ready for the day ahead. My back feels so much better than yesterday - the hot water bottle really did the trick.
Crossing back over into Idaho and following the outskirts of Lake Coeur d'Alene we came to the top of the Idaho Mountain Range and Lookout Pass Ski Village. The snow here was thick and dry and perfect for skiing or in our case playing in. One little boy didn't need any persuading to get out and enjoy the snow and was soon pelting mummy with snowballs!!
Jordan decided he already knew how to snowboard and was ready to go now!! It took some convincing that he really should have some lessons even if he already knew how to ski and we would have to do it back in Australia so I think we will be visiting some skifields this winter.
After playing in the snow for some time we decided to have a hot drink and then we would be on our way crossing over into the Montana Mountain Pass. Paul had to go back to the RV to get his wallet and seemed to take forever, when he returned I found out why - he couldn't find his wallet and it appears he had left it on the gas tank when filling up last night!!
Now was a perfect time to put all our positive thinking into action although I could see Paul struggling with it during the one and a half drive back down the mountain. Arriving at the Petrol station Paul couldn't see it on the gas pump and went inside to ask. Coming out I knew instantly he had it - What a win and yes everything was still there including the cash!!
So for the 2nd time today we headed up the Mountain Pass, stopping at Lookout Pass for the long awaited Coffee and Hot Chocolate with only 1/3 of the skiers still on the slope as had been this morning when we arrived. Returning to the RV, the boys decided to gang up on mummy once again and a snowball fight began. Because the snow was so soft we all had a really fun time.
Back on the road again we had the Montana side of the mountain range to drive over which was once again very spectacular and very cold as we drove up to an altitude of 5,000ft. After stopping for a coffee, tea and play break at yet another McDonalds along the way, we arrived in Dillon around 10.30pm. Paul did another wonderful job of driving the RV and after hot soup for dinner we all went to bed.
