Scones for Afternoon Tea on a cold Wintery Sunday
This afternoon Jordan and I made Scones for everybody. Whilst serving them up for afternoon tea I decided to get out the special plates that I thought came from my Nana but later found out they were actually mum's from a long time ago. In finding this out I had inadvertently put a little bit of something in our scones from 4 generations of our family. The recipe came from my nana, the love in making them from Jordan and myself and the plates from my mum. I couldn't think of a nicer mix for a yummy Sunday afternoon tea with my family.
Whilst rummaging around in the cupboards, I also found a little dragon cup and saucer which my great aunt gave to me when I was about Jordan's age so that has now been passed down to Jordan. I joke with mum about all the things she keeps and then I have to bite my tongue when I find little gems of my childhood like this that she has kept in perfect condition for all these years. They surely are treasures to behold.
