I AM SO GRATEFUL........

If  the 14 snakes that I have come into contact weren't enough to go searching for the meaning then having no internet for a little over a month certainly inspired more thinking time and then of course there was the room that flooded right after I made the decision that I really wanted to do something about the junk room to make it into the spare bedroom...... because I really needed my Massage Room as a Massage Room and not a spare bedroom.  Ok,  ok, I know I put that one out there but I was sort of thinking about doing it in a leisurely fashion NOT that week!!

I have rediscovered parts of me that I had forgotten, I am learning to accept  myself for who I really am (hair and all  :-), I have learnt so much and I have seen opportunities which when presented I have taken notice and acted upon them.  It hasn't all be smooth riding and I have been so tired at times that I have put myself to bed with Jordan.  I can't say that I have loved every minute of it, but I was and have been given an amazing opportunity to find out who I am and what I am really passionate about whilst having the support of a loving and caring husband and nurturing the ever changing relationship with my beautiful son.

I am eternally grateful that we as a family and me as a person were in the position to see and take advantage of this opportunity.

In 1 week Paul will be back within our circle of family and I look forward to us each embracing, sharing and living all that we have learnt individually and together during last 3 months.

I really feel like I am where I should be right at this moment in my life and know with all my heart that I am living my dream and fulfilling my passions.

I love you my beautiful boy
and although the road will be more challenging at times
I will always be there to help you with a guiding hand.

A visit from the Tooth Fairy

 Yes the day/night finally arrived
no tears, no blood, just one tiny tiny little tooth

Tooth Fairy bag made and ready
Toy in place to show the Fairy that it's a boy tooth
and one very excited little boy
who woke up at 5.00am to see if the Tooth Fairy has left anything!
He has also just informed me that he has another wriggly tooth!
I think this will make for one very busy tooth fairy or should I say a very tired mama!

Isn't it interesting how we adjust so quickly, when Jordan woke up at 4.30am every morning, what I would have done just to sleep into 5.00am!  Now he gets up between 6.00 & 6.30am and oh how I suffer when it is earlier.....

Eumundi

It hasn't all been about ticks,
thankfully we have had some pockets of fun over the past couple of weeks!
Market
Playground

and a new game for Jordan - SCRABBLE
His first game of scrabble and he was spelling words out all on his own.  Obviously he did need some help but it was mainly about where to put the words - we were totally amazed at how well he did.
GREAT JOB JORDAN.

We have a weekend full of birthday celebrations and catching up with friends so it will be a great one.  I hope you enjoy your weekend activities too!

Our weekend

We have been pretty busy the past couple of weeks, Farmers Markets, walks through the local Rain Forest, visiting the beach and of course lots of "imagination" play so I haven't been here much at all - family activities have been taking a priority.  My mum also arrived this week from Melbourne, we have some friends staying with us and Dad arrives tomorrow so there has been a hive of activity happening here and we are LOVING it.

I haven't forgotten though and will be back hopefully by the end of the week to do a couple of requested posts on Essential Oils (Melanie)  and a Tour of the house (Jenny).  Thanks for being so patient.

End of Term 1

The clouds on the way to school this morning (we were actually above them).  It was actually quite amazing, on one side there were all these amazing clouds of which I was only able to photograph a small part of and then on the other side it was all misty.  I loved the contrast and wish I could have photographed it all in one photo.

End of term 1 - I cannot believe Jordan has been going to this beautiful little school for 3 months.  My how time really has flown and I am glad to say that when I go and pick him up I see a little boy who is one of the kids now, rather than being the "new" kid who was sometimes sad and sometimes happy.   The past couple of days have seen a very sandy and wet boy getting into the car - they have been building rivers from the sandpit down the rocks and oh my what a team effort this has been.  Its lovely to see all the children working together to bring about the end result - this is one of the reasons we chose for Jordan to go to school as he just did not get this being an only child as well as being home schooled.

Although I cannot put up photo's of the children in the sandpit making the river, I leave you with  a peak into his classroom (taken while the children were in drama and meditation) and wonderful area's surrounding his classroom.  We love the school with its peaceful and nurturing environments it encourages and although we have had some challenges with settling in, if Jordan is going to attend a school we are sure this is the right choice of school for us and Jordan.

The sandpit is to the right of the playground contained by big rocks on the other side. All this being just outside their classroom
Rainy day play area
activity area & reading corner
So much of their day involves music and singing (see the guitar up against the wall at the front of the class)
The mat area at the front of the classroom is where most of the group activities and group teachings happen.  They really only go to the tables when they need to write or draw.
I love this tree, the children have made it all in their art classes
(it grows weekly)

The school bell - no electronic school bells here, one of the children gets to ring the school bell manually - start of school, lunch time and home time.   I just love it.

This time last year .........

...... Jordan and I had just embarked on our amazing trip over to America to meet up with Paul.  We had such an amazing time and Jordan learn't so much in that month we were away.  I can't believe it was a year ago today - we left Australia on the 18th and arrived in America on the 18th !!

I was talking to Jordan's teacher about the amazing Redwoods we saw in America and she gave us this beautiful book all about a tree to read because she thought we would appreciate it after hearing about the Redwoods.  All this brought back the memories of our awesome trip last year.

Wednesday 18th March - Melbourne - L.A. - Santa Margarita, California
After checking in and saying our goodbyes to mum and dad, we proceeded through Customs smoothly and went to the lounge to wait for boarding. Because I was traveling with a young child we were among the first to board the plane which made it a lot easier for me. The plane was delayed due to a minor miss-function (the landing gear indicator was saying the tyre wasn't inflated to the correct amount although it had just been checked by Maintenance) so we had to come off the runway and then go back to the terminal to get it checked out again. Eventually all was cleared and we were back on the runway for takeoff again.

We had the 3 seats to ourselves which was fantastic so ABC Teddy got his own seat and was also buckled in for the flight. Jordan eventually settled down to watch Tinkerbell after I explained there would be enough time to watch that movie and quite a few others if he wanted to. He did really well on the flight and managed to get 3-4 hours sleep while I dozed for about an hour. Our arrival was about 45mins late but we had a quick & easy entrance into America, the hardest part being trying to keep Jordan calm after 15 hours on a plane and knowing that Daddy was waiting for us. When he did see his Daddy he was off and running into his arms. He was so excited and didn't want to let go and when he finally did he wasn't far from Paul's side. It was so nice to see Paul again after so long and have "our" family unit back together again.

Jordan colouring in after lunch

Jordan settled into his seat to watch Tinkerbell

Getting the RV took quite a bit longer than we anticipated but eventually after changing RV's because the 1st one didn't have the booster seat buckle we were on the road. I was actually happy we had to change because the 1st RV looked quite tired and I must admit to being a little disappointed but I am really happy with the 2nd RV which is quite a bit newer and nicer. We decided to get out of the main part of L.A. and then stop and get some supplies and something to eat. We stopped at a Starbucks for a cup of tea/coffee and a play for Jordan in the playground as I wasn't that hungry. With 4 or 5 hours of driving ahead of us, I had no idea how I was going to stay awake, especially with the sun coming through the window and try as I might I did fall asleep. I was awake however to see ""Sunset Blvd" and "Malibu Beach" and the countryside I did see was amazing and the hills/mountains so big - everything just seems that little big bigger than Australia!!

We arrived at Santa Margarita around 7.00pm (I think) and Paul did a really good job of backing the RV into the site (he got it in first go). We had planned to go out for dinner tonight because I didn't want to cook and Paul had just driven for 5 hours but Santa Margarita is a really small place without Restaurants and we didn't really want to take the RV out again so Paul cooked Nacho's which was nice and quick then it was an early night for all of us. I think Jordan lasted about an hour in his bunk before I heard a very faint "mummy" and he was in our bed for the rest of the night.

My Boy ...

....made this display with grass clippings from the newly mowed lawn
on finding the lamb I put out for his Nature Table
(I know its a bit late for a Autumn Display but I did get it back in Melbourne and just found it)

....did this on his first ever attempt at sewing - awsome
(I bought this 6 months ago but he wasn't interested until now - totally amazing, I think he can do all the sewing around here from now on.  He has stayed on the line for every stitch!)

....tells me we are going to London!!
It started as "In 42 days we are going to London Mummy, that's what I am marking off my chart"
"Just Pretend" I say
"No, for real" he says
"But we don't have tickets to go to London, you have to book them and they cost a lot of money" I say
"Oh, well you can just book them while I am at school today" he says

Why does he want to go to London - well because he wants to go to Hogwarts of course - silly me, I should have known that!

....takes umbrella's
in the shower
just for fun !

..... always end up sleeping the wrong way round

........ My boy is delightful & one of a kind
