It was bitterly cold yesterday so whilst chatting to a friend on the phone, we decided why not let the kids run wild together. It was very much a spur of the moment decision and I am so glad we made the effort (she lives an hour away) because it was wonderful. We always have so much to chat about and never ever run out of conversation.
As we were leaving, Jordan's little friend next door was outside and got his "billycart" out for him and Jordan to have a quick ride on - well this just made Jordan's day - they both had so much fun and will definitely get together again soon to have a re-run.
So arriving home later than we normally would, we were welcomed home with a hot meal on the table that Paul had cooked for us - it was delicious and I was so grateful to not have to cook.
Every evening after dinner we have a little ritual of "family" time. Jordan chooses an activity that includes all of the family and lately all he wants to play do is "family drawing". We read about this on Soulemama's blog here initially and it has become a regular at our house. Sometimes the subjects are easy and sometimes they are quite a bit harder and require a certain amount of concentration but our family time always brings in laughter and fun which is the best way to end a busy day with us all enjoying each others company.
