Christmas celebrations

If I am totally honest with myself, this year I have not gotten into "Christmas" anything.  My focus has been on getting a house to move into in Queensland and everything that goes with that process, packing up and getting rid of a whole lot of stuff and a little boys birthday as last year's birthday was a disaster.

While I did not have the energy for a full on birthday party, it actually worked out really well.  We focused on what birthdays are really all about (celebration of birth), had some of his friends around for a present-free playtime with a birthday cake complete with candles of course.

We ended up at the local park playing until 7.00pm and then after dinner we completed the day with the birthday ring.  It was probably his best ever birthday.

So with so few weekends left can I now focus on Christmas celebrations - well for the 2nd time that I can remember (first time being the year of Jordan's birth and I was either at the hospital or getting myself well) I am not going to get stressed about it and what happens will happen.  We have been away this weekend, it is my fathers birthday next weekend or I should say we are celebrating his birthday next weekend as his actual birthday is on the 23rd so I am guessing other than going to look at Christmas lights which I adore doing (and so does Jordan - probably because I get Paul to drive us around every Christmas to look at them) that is going to be my total effort of Christmas Spirt until Christmas Day.  And I am OK with this, I don't need to be supermum, afterall Christmas is all about celebrating a birth with Joy, Peace, Love and Family.  This year this mum needs to let go to achieve the above so that on Christmas Day I will be feeling the joy, peace and love and celebrating the day with my loving family.

The christmas tree is up at least. and there are a few presents around it. We are aiming to go and sit on Santas knee tomorrow and scream in his ear while someone takes a photo.

  2. And I think I have enough on my plate - you have a wedding you are organising!!!

I don't even attempt to try Jordan on Santa's knee anymore, I gave up last year and we take our own Christmas photo's!

So sorry to hear you have to say goodbye to 2 little friends, that must be so hard for you.
