Conquering Fear

Today was Jordan's Brightstars Concert and he didn't want to go - he was scared !!

He has been going to classes every Saturday this term and just loves them.  They have been learning songs from Michael Jackson's repertoire, dance movements to the songs and each child had their own solo acting part.  He was so excited about the Open Class/Concert until last night.

Daddy had a little chat about how brave people get scared but they don't allow the feeling of being scared to take over and stop them doing what it is they want to do and Jordan  made the decision he could face his fears and would go this morning - I was so proud of him and so proud of his performance knowing what strength it had taken for him to attend and he soon realised that he had no reason to be scared.  Although he looked a little nervous and scared at the beginning once the music started, his little face lit up and  he was singling along with all the kids.  He spoke up clearly so everybody could hear his acting part and best of all he enjoyed himself and had fun.

He has inspired me so much that I have decided to confront one of my fears once we head back to Queensland and go skydiving, and I can tell you I am very very very scared of jumping out of a plane and free falling for 2 or so minutes before the parachute opens!

After the concert we decided a little treat was in order so we headed up to Montrose to the wonderful Chocolate Cafe we found recently and then to the Playground.  The Playground is one of the best outdoor playgrounds I have been to.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  We are off to the country for a couple of days so I will see you back here shortly.
