Our week

The last week saw us surrounded by lots and lots of boxes and living without a fridge which was a very interesting experience!

"How on earth did we survive whilst travelling" Deano asked me the other day?

Well, good question and it got me to thinking, what did we do?

And you know what, I soon realised for the most part, the places we stayed at had fridges either in the room or a communial fridge OR we ate out (cheaply)!!   We were also single, nowhere near as health conscious as today and I didn't have a six year old asking for food almost constantly.

Next question, what did we do in America when we found out the RV fridge didn't work and it was actually hotter in the fridge than outside of it - we bought little amounts daily as we have been doing for the past week!

So the outcome of all this - I am so grateful for some of our modern technology and what a joy it is to have my new fridge !

The fridge is now stocked full of yummy fresh fruit and vegetables
which were bought at a local Farmers Market.

Next on the list for a six year old who has been amazingly great at amusing himself for the best part of week, relatively mischief free, while we unpacked is assembling his Ant Farm he got for Xmas.

 Getting the dirt

Catching Ants

New Home for about 20 ants complete with Ant Salad for dinner

Today we took time out to have a picnic lunch in the garden - it was wonderful sitting under the shade of  the beautiful trees with a cool breeze blowing every so often and listening to all the sounds of the wildlife that surround us.

We are all loving our new home

  1. I lived for a year without a fridge in Albury before the birth of my first child. Summer was very challenging but we had a corner store nearby.
That picnic area looks divine, is it on your new property?
    We got the worm farm....
