SHAPE CARDS

I have just finished these Montessori style "Shape" cards for Jordan and thought I would share.  They are a great way to teach your child shapes and their associated names.  Jordan knows his shape names so I am using them to teach him how to spell the names of the shapes but they are appropriate for both pre-readers & readers.

Word Games

This is a great, fun game to introduce new words and sentences to children.  I turn the cards upside down and Jordan chooses one.  He then sounds out the word and does the action to it. 

We both love this game and have lots of fun playing it.

Colour Sorting

We have been focusing on colour for the past couple of months and this is our latest activity. I was looking at all the Montessori Colour Boxes when I came up with this instant, cheap alternative. I went to the local Paint shop and collected paint card swatches for 4 shades in each colour so it cost me nothing except a little bit of my time. I just love these alternatives.
